Subject: Self Introduction and Simple Conversations,
           Months of the Year, Food & Fruits, Clothes, Vehicles, Family Members and Counting (up to 20)
Education Standards: Pre-School – ESL / American English
 
Overview and Purpose:  
This month all age groups will learn the names of various food and fruits, clothes, vehicles, months of the year and the family members. They will continue to enrich their vocabulary in animal names and learn how to count up to 20.
ØStudents will learn to recognize the basic food and fruits in addition to learning the months of the year. Additionally, they will learn how to count up to 20. The new acquired skills will be utilized during coloring activities and game play.
Objectives:
Recognition and communication of the basic food and fruits, clothing, vehicles, family members, and the months of the year. Counting up to 20, enrichment of their vocabulary in animal names and the use of newly acquired skills in basic conversations in English.   
Children will learn:
Ø Egg, cheese, bread, milk, honey, banana, orange, apple, cake, ice-cream.
ØSocks, shoes, shirt, hat.
ØFather, mother, brother, sister, baby, grandfather, grandmother.
ØBus, train, ship, plane, car, bicycle (bike).
ØJanuary, February, March, April, May, June, July, August, September, October, November, December.
Information:
Food and Fruits: Egg, cheese, bread, milk, honey, banana, orange, apple, cake, ice-cream.  
Clothes: Socks, shoes, shirt, hat.
Family Members: Father, mother, brother, sister, baby, grandfather, grandmother.
Vehicles: Bus, train, ship, plane, car, bicycle.
Months of the Year: January, February, March, April, May, June, July, August, September, October, November, December.
 
Verification:
Students will be asked to use what they have learned in basic sentences, in singing children’s songs and during game play. Basic children’s competition among all age groups will also be utilized to check for students' understanding.
ØChildren will repeat the words individually and in group activities and game play. They will ask for teacher's assistance when they are challenged by the meaning or pronunciation of a new word.
Activity:
Students will use various support materials and activities including coloring pictures, watching cartoons, and listening to children’s music.
Ø"Finger family", "shapes" and the "days of the week" songs. Coloring activity of balloon and other shapes.
Summary:
Children will gain basic comprehension and conversation skills to include the above terminology in their conversations of English as a second Language. Their learning process will be re-enforced by repetition.
ØChildren will repeat the new words in English at least seven times and they will retain the meanings of those words in their minds upon being taught via the help of visual aids.
Materials Needed:
